EMPOWERING YOUTH SURVIVORS OF SEX-TRAFFICKING

Mission

To provide a safe, secure residential home environment where traumatized young victims will find the support, education and therapy they badly need to overcome their troubled past and where they will be given the time they need to heal. We will also work hard to establish partnerships with other local and national organizations to educate our community on issues related to human trafficking and child sex-slavery.

Vision

To help vulnerable victims of child sex trafficking rebuild their shattered lives through individualized care and to educate the public about this issue.

To help these young adults re-identify themselves – not as victims, but as survivors of their past. Only when they realize that having once been victimized does not define who they are but is only a small part of their life’s story will they be ready and able to begin their lives anew.

About Warriors Path

Warriors Path is a newly formed Non-Profit founded by Jennifer Wilkins, a disabled veteran who has worked with child victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) as a Victim Advocate and is committed to saving the many Tampa Bay victims of DMST.

DMST is a particularly disgusting and severe form of child abuse affecting young children and teenagers. Despite being illegal in all 50 states, DMST is happening locally in Florida and in our own county on a daily basis. In fact, Florida ranks as number 3 behind California and Texas in the volume of calls to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

Child Sex-trafficking victims are from all races, all family backgrounds, and all education levels. They come from big cities, small towns, suburbs, and rural areas. In other words, sex-trafficked children can be anyone from anywhere. It needs to be said – nearly all the attention of state and local governments, law enforcement, and service providers is focused on sexually exploited adolescent girls. However, there are also many boys among the victims of sexually exploited children. If boys are mentioned at all in discussions, they are usually mentioned as an afterthought such as: “…and boys too.”
